Rehearsal-getting ready for the big day!

My oldest child, Lindsey, was married this past Saturday, June 9th!

It was a perfect day, albeit, a bit hot!  It was held at Thomas's (Lindsey's now-husband) parent's house, Rosemary and John.  What a gorgeous house they have, but the backyard is even more beautiful, with a pool and a pond and plenty of land!

Blogspot is driving me crazy! I'm trying to mix the pictures throughout this post, by alas, it is not working!  So they're a bit out of order!

Creative Lindsey did quite a bit herself!  She made the cutest programs, (they came with pretty confetti), the bouquets, and arranged all the flowers for the tables.  She also knitted a gorgeous wedding shawl (yes, she knits, crochets, quilts, sews, and more!).

I'll be posting another wedding blog soon, and more shots, including the cute favors Lindsey made!

Cheers to the newlyweds!!

Count Down!!

I can't believe my daughter Lindsey will be married in just a few days!

Lindsey and Mark

This picture was taken on prom night for Mark!  Mark is my sweet 20 year old son.

Katherine, Lindsey, and Mark

Another prom night shot!  It was prom time for Katherine (who is now 19) too!

So my first born will be married this Saturday, June 9th! Wow!  Lindsey and I have always been very close.  She was basically an only child until she was around 8 or 9!  When Lindsey was around 5, I divorced her Dad, and we moved from Colorado back to Ohio.

I grew up in Ohio, and my Mom and Dad were there to help me out.  Boy did they help me out!  When I went back to work, my Mom would pick up Lindsey everyday from school and take her to McDonalds.  They had such a special bond.

Lindsey also had a special bond with my Dad.  He would take her to all kinds of fun places, like he did with us when we were kids!

In 1991 I married my favorite husband, Bob!  Soon we were blessed with Mark, and surprise...Katherine about 14 months later!

I'm a lucky girl!!  Three wonderful children and a fantastic husband.

I wish my daughter the same happiness.

I love you Lindsey, so so much!!!

Best wishes!!

Remembering

Me and sweet Lindsey

Time is flying by right before my eyes.   It seems like just a few days ago my daughter, Lindsey, was just a little girl.  All of a sudden she's grown up and getting married!

We've always been very close, and I'm am getting a bit more emotional than I ever thought I would!

My Mom and Lindsey

Lindsey big day is making me think more and more about my Mom.  I wish she could be at the wedding, but I believe she will be there.  My Mom passed away just 4 years after this picture was taken.  After Lindsey and I moved back to Ohio (from Colorado), in 1989 (after I was divorced), my Mom and Dad were always there for us!

My Mom was a true lady.  Lindsey reminds me so much of her.
My wonderful brother in law, Steve, and my Sister Susan

I will be thinking of my wonderful brother-in-law, Steve, also.  We all miss him.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and gone to soon.

Remember how fast time goes by.  Enjoy the little things, they make up your life!

The Big Day is Almost Here!

Vintage China

Yes, the big day is almost here!  My daughter, Lindsey, is getting married this Saturday, June 9th!  Her fiance's name is Thomas, and he's an adorable red head!

Milk glass for the wedding!

I've been collecting vintage dinner plates and bread & butter plates for the wedding, as well as pretty milk glass vases!

This Noritake dinner plate was from my Mom's collection

My Mom passed away in 1994, so having some of her china at the wedding will be a way to have her with us on this special day!

I'll be posting another blog about my wonderful daughter (and best friend), Lindsey, soon!

Being a Mom is the BEST!!

Blogspot is not letting me add pictures right!

Anyways....I received this cute handmade card from my daughter Katherine today!  She makes the most awesome cards!  She's at college, so she didn't have all the stuff she usually uses to make cards, but I still love this card...I can feel the love!

Lindsey, Katherine, and Mark

Check out that widow's peak on Katherine!!

Being a Mom is the best!  I still remember the feeling I had when I found out I was pregnant with Lindsey!  All of a sudden everything was complete!

Kooky Katherine and Cute Mark

I love being a Mom and I'm so proud of my 3 grown kids!  I'm just not sure how time went by so quickly!  It seemed like just yesterday that they were just little kids driving me crazy (not always)!!

Lindsey is now 28 and about to get married!  Mark is 20 and is finishing his 2nd year of college!  My baby, Katherine, is 19, and finishing her 1st year of college!

I love my kids...thanks for being so sweet!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day

Made with love by my Mom

Mother's Day is almost here!

I think about my Mom everyday.  Truly she was one of the most devoted Mom's in the world!  She was also my best friend.

Needlepoint by Mom

My Mom passed away, suddenly, in August of 1994.

I think my oldest daughter, Lindsey, was around 10 years old.  My Mom helped raise Lindsey, since I moved back here after a divorce in 1989.  I couldn't have done it without her and my Dad!

Mark and Katherine were just babies and only 14 months apart!  My Mom would come over every afternoon to help with the kids, and give me a chance to get out and pick up Lindsey at school.

Can't you just feel the love that comes through these pillows!?

I will always cherish the fun times I had with my Mom, and the devotion she had for all 5 over her children, and all of her grandchildren.

This one refuses to turn the right way!

My daughter, Lindsey, is going to be married June 9th!  Since she was with my Mom so much of the time, she's like a mini-Mona (my Mom's name)!  That's a good thing!  My Mom was always a lady.  She had style and class.  She also was so smart, and had a great sense of humor!  I will definitely be thinking of her on this special day, and know she will be there!

This is for all the Mom's out there that would give up everything for their children.

Happy Mother's Day.

Jen (I should say "Jennifer", since my Mom called me that)!

P.S. The pretty needlepoint pillows were made by my Mom.  She actually had a needlepoint shop in the 1970s called "The Nasty Needles"!

What I've been up to!

Thanks Audrey!

One of my milk glass customers, Audrey, was kind enough to share a picture of the Fenton jug she purchased from me!  The photography is courtesy of Izzy Hudgins Photography  Gorgeous photography!

And then there's the not so classy shot!

I was trying to get a picture of the music lady, and didn't even see this attractive beer guzzling guy in my shot!  Pretty funny!

My husband and I went to the Lakewood historical society preview party for a big antique sale that went on this weekend!  They had wine (and beer as you can see) and lovely Hors d'oeuvre!

The best part is I was able to view all the wonderful vintage and antiques before the regular sale started!  And yes, I went home with quite a few lovely pieces!

The Nicholson House

No, the house isn't tilted, the photographer (yes, that's me!) is!  This beautiful 1830's house can be rented for parties!  It includes a kitchen, parking, and four parlors!

So next time you're thinking of having a party, think about having it here!

Happy Sunday!
