hah! if you know me, you're already thinking...yeah, you really DO need help!
No--I mean blogging help! I keep hearing how having a blog helps your business. Well, I have my blog, but I don't think it's helping!
So I'm calling for everyone to give me some tips, advice, etc. Be gentle please!
I have read in several forums on Etsy that people have had lots of success with giveaways on their blogs...so I really want to do that. Does anyone have an experience with this? I'm not sure how to start this and promote it..probably on an etsy forum, I'm guessing.
So comment away...I can't wait to get started!!

I'm right there with you on "Don't know if blogging helps" but you have to admit, it's fun talking......albeit to ourselves sometimes! LOL
I would do a giveaway or contest, those seem to be popular, after all people like them for a couple of reasons:
a) they like to win
b) they like free things
c) it makes them feel like they are helping you out (which they are!)
So, you are really helping yourself and making someone else happy in the process. I would love to see what you come up with.
I would be happy to put a little ad on my blog to your Etsy shop if you'd like, free of course! Like you, I don't really know how much traffic I get, but every little bit helps! Take a look at the bottom of my blog, and you'll see a few of them already.

Promote your blog in the Etsy forums. Hit every thread available with your link. Or start your own thread and your link will be the first on the list. When I do that I get plenty of hits (and some hearts).
Also there are threads on the forums where someone is asking for volunteers to be featured on their blogs. Check those out if you haven't already and volunteer. That's more exposure for your shop.

Yes it looks like the blogs are more a labour of love
Actually I am quite liking having everything in one place so I will prob keep blogging just for me
But its always nice when someone has popped in
No idea about givaways, havent really figured out how blogging works that well

I have done several give aways and it is really fun!
I recently joined a team and I think that might really help if you do that and get your teammates to announce the give away on their blogs, etc.
When you first do a give away I always try to be really generous and give away something(s) I think my readers really want!

I think a giveaway is a good idea Jen. You may not get very many people to start with but it will grow I am sure. I love giveaways and often think about doing one myself. You will be amazed by how many people appear who you didn't even know read your blog...lol. We all like a freebie.
